Time to start the thaw and get ready for flooding.

I was referring to Charles Manson from the 60's.

Brandy passed 2 years ago on the 4th of July of heart failor. Sad day in the world for us. 3 weeks ago we were gifted a 3 month old lab/shep mix. He is turning out to be a very good boy and is filling a hole that has been empty for for awhile here.
Thanks for asking by the way. It's been awhile since I posted here and surprized you remembered.

I know. I was showing my age. That’s a sale barn and the pens next to it said sheep and goats. Old school Appalachian place.

We have an old school livestock sale barn 6 miles away. It was a thing to go there on Tuesday evenings with dad to watch the animals being sold. Been there well over 50 years.

It "might" reach the truck again with a stick of wood or two for weight. :D

Our last sale barn sold and closed a couple years ago. We used to go there to the diner on bad weather days that we didn’t work. Took the kids in there often so they could have contact and interact with old school farm/ranch guys to listen and have that experience. That paid off for the kids big time, they still remember stories they heard and use it in life.

I didn’t have the heart to break your even 20,o00 likes.

    Woodburn auction yard?

I used to go there every Tuesday for the miscellaneous sale, and always went to the machinery sales they had a few times per year....it's a shame that place closed down.

Yup. Lebanon before that. I’m a ways away now but still drove over and bought pigs there just for old times. I was there with the boy when the auctioneer got stabbed. Remember that monstrosity of a wood stove they had, talk about central heating.

More than once that was a first date with a new lady. Somehow those didn’t work out. Gotta be real from the get go.

Good times in the good o'l days.....they really had a colorful crowd there!
I loved that woodstove on a cool winter day, and those "auction burgers" were awesome!

I lived up in Clatskanie so it was quite the drive, but I was making a living buying junk at the weekly sales and re selling it on eBay so it was worth the drive, (usually).

I hadn't heard of the auctioneer being stabbed, was that the old man, or Skip, or someone else?

    This morning...... 20240118_064916.jpg 20240118_071605.jpg
