whats even funnier than that......an old guy wearing skinny jeans. We never laughed so hard in our lives. Then he looked at us, and we laughed even harder!!!
When you are hunting and make a shot you don't notice the noise or feel the recoil. When you are patterning/sighting in it is loud as hell and hurts your shoulder.
100+ MPH on a deserted interstate can land you in jail, revoke your license, and forfeit your vehicle. Using a smartphone on city streets might result in a nominal fine. Getting caught DUI gets you fined and points on your license.
I have observed that when I am all caught up with my other work and am actually looking for things to do that there is nary a firewood score to be found. When everybody wants metal work done, the Wif presents me with a large honey-do list, the gutters need cleaning, moss killer needs spreading, the salmon are starting to run and hunting season opens......the neighbor down the street will drop three huge Fir trees and tell me they are all mine but he needs them moved this weekend or he will give them to his BIL!
This makes the most sense! I’ve accounted for tree lines and shade and still my observation has been the edges are shorter, next to weeds and grass. And I’ve walked through the rows, stepping on brown dirt the whole time, between the tallest corn.
In addition, many times the outside couple rows sometimes won't even get fertilizer. Back when we planted using 2 row planters we commonly did not fill the fertilizer hoppers until the first round was planted.
My boss likes to check on his guys about 15-20 times an hour, all day long. He likes to pace up and down the aisle, glaring at everyone as he goes by. At the end of the day he grumbles about there not being enough time for him to do anything. All I can do is smile.
The shade from the dense corn does a lot to prevent low-growing weeds and especially grass from getting anywhere. The filtered sunlight in the outer rows is usually enough for some undesirables. Also - how a field was fertilized matters. Granular product launched off of a huge spreader truck is going to have areas of lighter distribution at the edges of a field as there would not be an adjacent pass to overlap and even out the distribution rate.
My boss is a pretty straight shooter, just the most obnoxious and neurotic individual I’ve ever met. When he’s pacing aimlessly he grabs his left arm with his right and literally gnaws on it like an angry fisher cat. If while he’s deep into a gnawing session and he knows he’s been spotted, he immediately throws his arm down and scurries away. Strange dude
Start his day for him by going in and saying " Good Morning, do you feel okay today? your looking awful pale." If he is neurotic that while fire him right up.
I had a boss who if he was passing by, would turn and walk over, get in your face and say "what are you doing"? . Did it to everybody in our shop. One day he did it to me and I got up and close, gave him the steely eyes and said "AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" He immediately turned and walk away quickly and never did it to me again. About a year later I switched companies and had occasion to have to stop into the old shop. Was standing there talking to one of my former co-workers and he came in the shop saw me and walked over. I took the first swing of the bat and said to him " Wow, your still here?" He immediately departed like a hawk's azz in a power dive !!!!!
Our entire department runs so much smoother and more efficiently when he takes that one day off a year. I don’t do well existing in a police state under constant surveillance, every move being watched.
