I'm going to start saving my halves aside and put them bark up on top of the stacks to keep sharp corners from poking in my tarps
Yeah around that though most houses are sealed pretty well. I heat my place on 3-3.5 cords. Now the shop, it's more like 2-4 wheelbarrow loads a day.
That's really good heating your place with 3-3.5 cords in your environment, I used almost three cords last year here in Michigan
Oak & mulberry , jealousy here, Nice dry stack on the porch, high BTU stuff. I have some of what most would call uglies in the stack. The few straight grained ones I get, go for the cross stacked end base so it is semi solid. Most of the wood is somewhere between the straight cross stacked ends & the uglies pile.
Some is buried in my stacks. First Photo is a couple of loads from a tree service. Came out of a fence row. Always have to watch for barb wire etc. Second photo is some of the best mulberry splits ( with a little silver maple) no photos of the pile of uglies. Hope it's dry enough for 2015-2016!
That's a really nice setup you have there. Love the self-contained pallet system. I'd love to do that but don't have the room yet.
A mountain of a man he is, like most Alaskans. You need to be, what with fightin' off grizzlies, wolves and what not... Yep, I like how you tied in the tops of the stacks, Dave. He don't mess around; If there's no snow on the ground, it's good weather for golf!
