No problem.. I bought used stuff that needed work, but am very happy how things turned out. my G1900 was about the size of you 455 as far as foot print, mower, just no loader or three point option. I was making a 3 point for it when I ran across the Kubota BX. I ran it by a few guys on the kubota and tractor forums and they all thought I was dumb for wanting to get rid of the mower and tractor to get a bx. It would be more of an issue if I had to buy one new. That's a lot of money to "think" that's what you want. your 455 will still bring good size resale value and put a huge chunk down on your 1 series or 2 series. The r4's on all the other SCUTs or compact tractors I tried worked extremely well. I tried to get R4's for my old mitsubishi but it has oddball sized wheels. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you do upgrade. My main thing was having a diesel. My dad's cub cadet 20something HP twin with a 60" deck used 4-5 gallons of gas to mow his lawn and mine when I'm out of town. Mine would mow about 3 months on 5 gallons of fuel. Other than a few chainsaws and a blower/polesaw I don't have anything that runs gasoline anymore.

I'm sure you've been to the dealer and seen size by side, but real world size isn't much difference. (without the loader on it) I'm pretty sure the BX has a cat 1 limited too, and I haven't seen an issue with the box blade or scraper blade yet. I rarely use the scraper blade now that I have the front blade. overall foot print between the two machines are not much different, wider, but going from manual steering to power steering, it actually turns tighter. 60"mower vs 54" and 22hp instead of 18. i don't slow down to mow. The baby had ags on it and didn't tear up the ground, but it was only 800lbs instead of 1400 or whatever the BX is. and pics when I first got it before fixing the minor stuff.

The BX50 and newer tractors have a Cat 1 3PH.

Another advantage to a compact over a SCUT is some of the smaller compacts have independent brakes.
