I wouldn't take anything with the potential of suicidal thoughts as a possible side affect.. Once again I do question the FDA.. Who pays off who on some of these approvals?
theres a lot of evidence that e-cigs are safer than smoking cigarettes!! if you can quit smoking cigarettes by using vape, do it!
safe is an absolute safer is a relative term subject to convenient objectivity and/or lack thereof if you're vaping nicotine product you're still addicted to nicotine and all you've accomplished is changing delivery systems, one with long term studies proving it is quite unhealthy both due to the nicotine and the myriad of other substances inherent with both tobacco products and non-tobacco products, with one replete of the long term studies. Vaping is still smoking. AS I stated before, it can be a great tool to quit ( and there are many others ) , but if you don't quit vaping also, you're still a smoker. Despite any state of denial you might exist in.
I agree 100%! I've said this right along.. I don't cough when I go to bed and breathe great now.. I feel it is much safer than smoking.. Thanks for that! I have done loads of research and have come to this conclusion..
Vaping is NOT smoking.. It is MUCH safer.. Nicotine is not the real problem rather it is the byproducts of combustion which vaping doesn't employ..
Interesting articles.. https://www.politico.eu/article/e-c...acco-back-vaping-for-health-benefits-say-mps/ Fact check: is vaping bad for you?
To anyone who wants to quit, I understand how tough it is. My wife and I were smoking about a pack a day, each. Last June we went on a 10 day vacation with another couple who doesn’t smoke. We couldn’t smoke at the airport,in the rental car, at the hotels, and were embarrassed to smoke every time we had the chance. So we didn’t buy any smokes during the trip. We haven’t smoked a cigarette since, but I admit , I do puff on a small cigar sometimes. I think the only thing that helped was the fact that we changed our daily schedule at least for a short time. Smoking is a routine- gotta have it when you wake up, after meals, drinking beer, etc. It is hard, but think about walking or doing something different when you get the urge. If you can “white knuckle it” for a week or so , you’re almost there. 2 weeks is the hard part.
Timely topic.. and revived an OLD thread. I keep reminding myself all the time that I need to quit smoking, and yet. One would think that when Chazsbetterhalf went into the hospital Feb '18 as she couldn't breathe, that it would be a no-brainer. She's been on O2 since, and that as well should be a constant reminder of my potential future. And yet.. I tried the vape thing, just wasn't into the flavors, I really wasn't looking for "strawberry shortcake" n such. That didn't last. I was cut down to around 5 cigs per day, but never fully quit, and slowly went back to ~1 1/2 packs per day. I have nicorette gum here, and yet At some point I may find a hammer weighty enuff to pound some sense into my thick skull. To those that quit Congrats To those still in the fight It's not over yet.
Don't give up! Vaping tobacco flavored juice right now.. I like it on occasion.. Might work for you? It's good that we talk about it here and understand what you're saying.. Gold Label
I remember what helped me to quit, someone gave me 2 truckloads of unsplit firewood, everytime I thought about a cig ……….yup in the back yard with a maul and ax 1/2 hour to 45 min later no craving. I remember it was oak ash and maple! My worst cravings were at home .
She has tried Chan, Gab and Lyric and either not reacted well or not worked. On top of this, insurance in the last year has become insane refusing to cover arthritis med surgeon prescribed and her inhaler from her primary physician. I have had luck with nicotine lozenges in the past and joneseing lately, may need to pick some up so as to not pick up some cigars instead. I really need to get out doing summer work and some firewood to take my mind off of things, but the snow just keeps hanging on around here. I hope by Easter things finally turn for the better around here and get out of the shadows of temptation.
I have to say, even before i went on o2 Chaz has totally showed respect for me quitting. He goes outside to have a smoke. In summer he does his best to make sure the smoke is not in my face. Although i would like to see him him quit it is totally his decision when and if he quits. I will not be a nag.
I remember being out on my porch having a smoke and seeing my young twin toddlers walking around our living room. I knew then that I needed to be around for their older sister, them, and little did we know at the time, a new sister that would be along in a few years. Whoever you care for and cares for you. And whatever you chose to do in your life, is more important than any kind of smoke enjoyment you have and that your respiratory system is not meant to endure. Quit. YOU can do it.
