Ya Its all good. Its funny, it can make you feel like crap and you still want one. Im not going to stress out about it just take it one day at a time.
Not easy to quit, I quit cold turkey 17 years ago last month. Back then we could still smoke in the bars in NY. Still like the smell of cigarettes.
This July will be 14 years since I quit. During the twenty years I smoked off and on, I must of tried to quit a hundred times. But I finally did it. Don’t give up trying folks. YOU can do it.
Long story short I failed and went back however I tried vaping 31 days ago and haven't smoked since.. i find this has worked better than anything else I have tried and it is much safer than smoking... Nicotine doesn't cause cancer but all the byproducts of burning tobacco do.. For anyone trying to quit I would recommend trying this for yourself.. It is also inexpensive, tastes good and smells good.. You can choose your nicotine level including nicotine free and adjust as needed.. Only 4 ingredients in eJuice.. The government is against it because they are losing tax money! I don't trust them one bit on vaping! By contrast England is encouraging people to vape instead of smoking.. This should tell you something.. The patch, gum, lozenges all contain nicotine yet that is OK.. Consider that! Plenty of YouTube videos about this that will help you make a better decision.. I can also tell you that my breathing is completely normal since I made the switch.. Bottom line is do what works best for you..
There are no long-term studies to back up claims that the vapor from e-cigarettes is less harmful than conventional smoke. Vaping has NOT proven to be "safer" than smoking cigarettes. You're still causing inflammation of the lungs and passageways. There are still some of the same carcinogens in e-cigarettes as regular cigarettes. Use them to kick the nicotine habit but quit the smoking habit ASAP as well. I tried quitting for years. It's not easy to get that nicotine monkey off your back, but you have to decide to be a non-smoker, and DO IT. Do or do not. There is no try.
NOT true.. Lots of informative videos on YouTube.. English have done big studies.. Big tobacco wants us to smoke! No carcinogens in vapors..
I tried one a few years ago, cannot recall the name. I kept laying it down or trying to ash it in my imaginary ashtray (like imaginary brakes in the passenger seat) and it would leak. What brand did you get and does it need to stay upright?
Suorin Edge doesn't leak.. You have to buy refillable pods separately at 2.50 each.. Comes with 2 batteries which charge quickly and USB cable.. Bought mine here: Suorin Edge | Electric Tobacconist
You will need to buy vape juice as well.. I suggest going to a vape shop and talking to them if you have one near you.. Do research online if not.. It's not that vaping is good for you rather it's MUCH better for you.. With time you reduce your nicotine level.. The 4 ingredients in vape juice are VG (vegetable glycerine), PG (polypropylene, used in foods and also inhalers for asthma, etc.), flavoring & nicotine which can be bought nic free if you desire.. Many people are totally uninformed or misinformed and form opinions which have no basis on the facts.. The thing to remember is the government is losing TONS of tax money when people stop smoking cigarettes.. Vaping is NOT smoking.. There is only vapor no smoke.. It is is the byproducts from burning tobacco which causes all the harm including but not limited to carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, tar, arsenic, etc.
BTW congrats on quitting! For some it's much harder.. We're all different and have to go with what works best for us.. I enjoyed smoking for social reasons amongst other things.. The physical hand to mouth thing is hard for me to get past and I think this is why it works well for me.. I am working on reducing my nicotine intake and have done well so far.. Once a smoker we will always be a smoker it's just something that lurks in the back of your mind.. So many triggers!
Interestingly nicotine and caffeine are very similar yet they don't ban caffeine.. Most people are addicted in caffeine including myself and I will never give that up.. I enjoy beer but not addicted to this..
You can flood this forum with all the misinformation that is readily available online. It does not change the fact that there is absolutely no evidence that vaping is "safe".
30 years nearly since I started. I don't think I will ever be done til I croak. Have stopped and started many times, and at times years in between. It is extra difficult having a wife that is a diehard smoker that won't be told what or where and it is constantly in my face. My biggest weakness is cigars, but have smoked cigs and chewed and even done both at the same time. Really fighting for the last few months to not give in. I don't know if it is spring fever, an abundance of life stress, being an addict, or just ornery that I have been jonesing so bad lately. Even typing this I can just about taste some good old fashioned cherry pipe tobacco and feel the enjoyment of the whole process even though I know it is killing me. I don't do drugs and barely touch booze but why is it when tempted by a cigar my will power will lose?! I know I should never reintroduce nicotine but half wonder if I should go get some of the tablets or if it will break my will even more and be easier to lapse??? If it is this bad for me I can't imagine what a heroin or meth head must have to fight.
I believe addiction is worse for some than for others. Be it smoking, drinking, drugs, gambling, sex, food, fishing, hunting, fast cars, chainsaws, collections, shopping, shoes....whatever.... some people just can't control themselves. or they can control one addiction by trading it for another addiction ... our hobbies can be seen as an addiction, or sin, if we can't control it
Like Chantix or bupronion? I would not hesitate if it were me. It worked really well for my aunt. I had an uncommon side effect, too bad, same thing when rheumatologist tried Lyrica for pain. Since I'm on the subject, one of those might do double duty for your wife, has her rheumy ever mentioned them? Gabapentin helps my father with bad RA and his wife that has fibro. Sorry I'm mixing up generic ingredients with name brands, I don't recall which is which but they are tied in one way or another.
