Running out of room in the big wood shed so I put this together last week. 2 pallets for the bottom, 2 for the sides, some 2 x 4's for the roof, cover with tar paper and some role roofing, done, all stuff I had lying around. Probably holds a bit more than 1/2 cord.
When your in a pinch and need to make some room for dry wood storage, pallets sure do fit the bill and no major dents in the wallet. Nice job, PP would be proud...
Yes- awesome Totes McGoats NY style That's how we roll, Chuck The Force is strong with this one, Pallet Pete.... Yes?
I don't have any woodshed. For now just stacked and some plastic on top to keep the rain out. I wish I had a source of pallets; I would build a woodshed from them.
That looks like a redneck jailhouse. But it is an awesome wood shed, I'm beginning to get an idea.......and I do have tons of pallets. Stay tuned for the results.
I need to see if I can locate pallets because I need to build a woodshed and do it on the cheap. What are good sources of pallets?
A lot of the local businesses put them out by the side of the road around here, plumbing supply, power equiptment dealers, etc. Happy Hunting!
Why can't you check on craigslist for your area? Look under "free" or just do a word search on their site. There may also be wood stove and related items for your build....That's how I got my "used little for two seasons" el dorado for $225. Guy said he doesn't think it burnt more than 2 cord in it since buying it new.
When I built the above shed I spent a little over 200. I purchased the 4x4s and 2x4s brand new. The roofing is scratch and dent steel pole barn siding I bought @ Menards. If I had had more time to scrounge I could have built the whole thing for free or just the cost of nuts and bolts. The 22 pallets were found much like everyone has mentioned here. If you decide to go this route I would be happy to answer any questions you might have.
Yep, check with manufacturing facilities. Or has more than we can deal with, and they sometimes have to pay to have them taken away. Well they used to at least. I've been taking them sporadically, bringing a trailer to work once in a while. I need a pickup truck.
If you only lived a smidge closer Kimberly .... I've got 5 pallets 40" x 72" in the back yard right now.............
