We had to up two steps to get into the porch on the outside of my "basement" So we put a ramp over the steps and just pull a cart with the pellets on them up the ramp. Bulk of the pellets stay in the garage, but get pulled into the porch . Form there a luggage hand truck easily moves them to the stove. We sit the bag on a chair and slit the bag allowing them to pour out into plastic buckets. Then we can lift the buckets up and pour them into the stove hopper. Sounds like a lot of moving, but it isn't too bad. Lifting the bags up is just too much for us. We can't set them on top of this stove as we could with the other one. This stove gets HOT!
What ever you do, find a way to move enough pellets that you can work with for up to a week. Bad weather, sickness etc. can put a damper on things if you need to move pellets in adverse conditions.

Keeping the CPM is a good idea for shoulders, and also daytime heating. Only the days when it's been super cold (10° or below), have I ran the Fahrenheit all day.. I run it at night for warm bedrooms. During the day, the Enerzone takes the heat load. With the Solar gain we get, it doesn't take much heat.

Congrats on the purchase. Let me know when you head up this way. I will meet you up there at the shop.

Hmmm...might have to take advantage of free help....

Probably going to try to get it installed sometime this summer. I don't think I'll get it in time for using it this winter. Best case scenerio, I can pick it up on March 22nd, but I'm not sure if it will be in at that point. Otherwise I'm looking at April 5th to pick it up. If I'm running a furnace in april... I'm hoping for a new smoker for my birthday in May, so maybe we'll have to set something up involving fire, beer, and meat. :drunk:Sounds like fun to me!

Just curious....if it doesn't get installed until summer, when does the warranty start? Upon purchase or installation? If it's on purchase, you might want to just put a deposit down & get delivery closer to when you plan to install.

    Just sayin......

I had considered that idea, but wanted to get it done while I had the money, and then have the summer to get it installed. Most of my projects take 3-6 months longer than I plan! I figure it should be a nice project to work on when it's 100 degrees out. The basement should be nice and cool at that point. Warranty wise, I don't think it makes much difference if the warranty runs out in March 2017 vs Sept 2017. I'm thinking that it's unlikely that a critical part is going to stop working during the summer when it's not running.

I'm also in the process of finishing the basement, and I'd prefer to get the furnace into the basement before i finished the drywall and stairs. Less chance of mucking something up that way. It's bad enough to have to finish drywall once, I'd hate to have to go back and fix a gouge or dent because the furnace scratched it up on the way down the stairs.

I was thinking of getting a winch to mount on my trailer that I could use to slowly lower the furnace down the stairs. My basement door is directly inside from the patio door, so I thought I could park the trailer outside the door and use the winch. Beats trying to muscle 450 lbs down the stairs. My friends are all puny like me, so I don't have much access to muscle to move this thing around. Work smarter, not harder, right?

3 people is all it takes to lower it.

Take two 8' nylon straps and tie one to each handle on an appliance dolly. One person on the bottom side of furnace, and two people up top with the straps lowering it.

If you need help? I would gladly come out and help. :)

I used the strap trick that Dex told me about at different forum. Worked good.

If you're lucky, you don't end up with 400 pounds wedged between the bottom stair and the wall like I did. That was a not so good time.

LOL! How long did it take to get that dislodged?

I've measured, and should have enough room. Worst case scenerio, I can remove a wall stud or two since I don't have the drywall up in that area yet.

About 20 minutes, a floor jack and several 2x4 scraps.

I was at work today, and heard my phone ring. Headed back to my office, and saw that the St. Croix dealer was calling. Excellent. My furnace must be in.

Nope. Apparently they're completely sold out, and they can't get a Revolution for me till "fall". Fall? What date is that? 9/20-12/20? Can't get more specific on the date than fall. This is from St. Croix, not my dealer btw. Guess I'm either playing the waiting game, or searching craigslist to see if something comes up.

I'm terrible at making a decision, and agonized over whether I should or not, and when I finally make the decision to buy a furnace, they can't deliver. ARGH!
