Question for the pine burners?

    Fresh yes, dry dead standing nothing. I do cut all of the branch nuggets off of the log and put them in a bucket cuz there loaded with resin (fat wood) and make great fire starters. Red pine seems to have or create more resin than the white pine.

    Itle be fine split most of it big while splitting smaller stuff like a qtr cord 1 inch splits for kindling. Season it at least a year n half ccs.. its gotta be a dry as possible. It's got a lot if sap so if it's got any pitch itle amplify the creosote issues.
    Otherwise if its dry itle burn hot and not create any more creosote than hardwoods. Fires smell great too

    Likewise!!

    As so many have mentioned it does not leave much in coals but I do like it because it burns really really hot, my house can get heated up really quick loaded with pine.

    I burn it in my OWB and find that a lot of times the fire will go out and leave a few charred splits in the firebox. Works well for the shoulder seasons.
