Quebec town swaps out salt for eco-friendly wood chips on icy roads

    Friend in WV says they use the coal dust on icy roads and the black melts the ice as soon as the sun shines even a little bit. He also told me that if you slide off the road don't take out any reflectors or state road signs as you will get a big to replace them.

    I wish they would use sand or some thing on our icy back road intersection corners.

    In Maine we would just cut the trees.
