Quadrafire pellet stove - Anyone upgrade their exhaust impeller from 9 petal to 11 petal?

I did this to my Contour and ran it all last winter and it worked super!
The pellets always lit because no stuck ash in the fire pot!

Anyone try this?

Don- didja take before/after draft readings? Im a bit leery of making changes like that, willy-nilly, as with increased draft you might get decreased dwell time on your exchanger, and actually lose efficiency.....

 

That is a good idea and I may have a chance to do it. Another member on the forum has done the same thing with very good results. The issue here with the igniter at the bottom front of the big round firepot sometimes does not auto start do to ash build up in the pot. I ran the stove all last winter and never had enough ash buildup to keep the stove from starting. Harmans do not have these problems yet have a double paddle fan blade in the P-Series for extra low draft. I think they know it is a good idea.

Did you the SBI Enerzone Eurostar has a positive draft fan that looks like a computer fan in addition to the standard combustion fan? Just think, maybe the amout of air to feed the fire may differ from the amount of air needed to exhaust the smoke? That makes perfect sense! This stove maybe the best low drafter if both blowers run at the proper speeds for each heat level to maximize the effeciency of this operation! Maybe a variable speed computer type fan in an OAK flex pipe to feed a Harman stove would increase the efficiency to meet new EPA requirements?

 

I don't know anything about the Eurostar.......Im just puzzling this out, is all.
