Get that cleanout panel off that Don2222 mentioned....I'm guessing a LOT of ash in there. As I said earlier, don't believe what people will tell you about how they did a "complete" cleaning..... :picard:

Ash collects in that area. When you take the cover off you will know if they "cleaned" that stove regularly or not. There should be ash in there obviously but not filled up with it.

You'll need to take both blowers out and clean them. You'll need a replacement gasket for the combustion blower though.

You can but you'll need to get a drywall filter or something of that sorts for it or you'll be blowing ash out the exhaust of the vacuum. The regular filter isn't fine enough to stop the ash from passing through it.

A little elbow grease and a lot of that will clean up. That must be an older one, does it have the gold "Quad" logo on the front glass? They also changed to a stainless steel hopper too in the midish 2000's I believe. You'll want to get the hopper bottom as smooth as possible so the pellets "slide" and don't hang up on the rust.

Off the top of my head a few things you should replace right off the bat is the door gasket (it's 7/8"), all of the door glass gasket (tadpole gasket), ashpan gasket, igniter, burnpot gasket. You should fully pull the burnpot and make sure all or the holes are open on it. Some holes on the bottom of the pot could have gotten clogged over the years if the stove wasn't properly maintained.

One switch is hi/low and the other it fan speed. There's no on/off switch, that is controlled by the thermostat.
