    Hi Tammy
I just got another CB1200 also, this is my 4 th one.
    They are great stoves,
The one I just got works fine after a good cleanup and oiling the convection blower to stop it from squeaking! It is still shabby shakes so I want to paint it up like my previous one.
The previous one is high temp Satin Black 1,400 degrees on the outside and very high temp 2,000 degree flat black spray paint on the inside.
Are you going to paint yours too?

Let's see some pics of your stove, we all like to see pics?

Pic 1 - stove I just picked up
    Pic 2 - my previous cb1200

Basically connect a wire to the thermostat terminals. It will act like the stat is calling for heat.

Only dumb question is one that was never asked.... ;) We all were newbies and had to ask them too.

So not dumb to us!! :D Its how we learned. :)

When you go to replace the glass, you'll need the correct tadpole gasket for the glass. The gasket ONLY goes on three sides of the glass. You DO NOT put gasket material on the top edge of the glass. There is an air wash system that draws in air from the top edge of all three panes to keep the glass clean.

I only use the dry moly on the impeller blades and burn pot to keep it from rusting but too late for that cuz I'm cleaning this thing too late and left everything hooked up over the summer. But what I am doing is using electrolysis to get all of the rust off the burn pot.

I highly recommend doing some "poking around" in this forum using the "search" feature. When you get the stove home, keep it outside and use the "leaf blower trick" as mentioned here many times (IF you have a leaf blower that has the ability to suck-up leaves).....don't trust that the previous owner has done a great job cleaning the stove, regardless of what they claim. Pellet stoves need to be kept clean to operate properly, and there are usually some hidden places inside that ash gets trapped......usually the leaf blower trick is the only way to get it out.
As for your glass, it is actually not "glass", but is called "ceramic glass". If you go to your local glass shop and ask, they can usually get it for you.....just have the correct dimensions for them (see my next post for sizes). The tadpole gasket mentioned above will have to sourced too.

Here's the sizes for the glass, and the parts list.....hope you get the original owners manual with the stove, but if not, I attached that too:

The best time to paint the door is when you have the glass out!

I just Painted this Jamestown J2000 door yesterday. :)

Thanks bud! Love to help out when I can. Back when I bought the used Avalon Astoria, the stove shop that I got it from had a used CB 1200 for sale too. I had a tough time deciding which one to buy, but the Astoria's 120lb hopper won me over.

No, coal is to hard, but you could mix a little corn.
Check the manual, if it only recommends wood pellets then that is really what you should use.
