I can't help it but... I've been bit by the CSM bug. Can't help but to think how much awesome lumber that base would have yielded! Dang, who can I blame for this!?!

Good thing you don't have to move it more than 100'. lol But that seems like a crazy rule for gathering wood. In MI, it has to be down but so far as I know no ruling on how far from road except no motorized vehicles to haul it out to the road. And yes, I've thought about that deer hauler for moving wood and many other things. I'd bet it would work well for hauling hay or straw too.

I came across this old picture and remember weighing one of those rounds and it was over 200 lb and I don't think these were as large as yours.

Boy those sure are purdy! Alot of folks are scared if stuff that big, thinking it'll be a bear to split. But with straight grain red/black oak like that it just pops apart! :axe:

That's my bread and butter. Love me some good old (about 4-5 years) red oak.

Well I decided that 562 justs wasn't enough saw for that purdy oak so I figured I get me a big ole saw and boy does it eat through that oak!

No replacement for displacement when it comes to large oak logs!
