In trying to salvage pretty much any wood I find, it’s not unusual to end up with punky wood in the stack. I’ve found here that once dry it makes great fire starter for the first warming fire in the morning. If I were limited on storage space or living in a cold climate I wouldn’t be so eager to spend my time and energy on it but there are some btus in the garbage wood as well. This morning I put in three small pieces and lit it with a paper towel and had the stove up to temp in 10 minutes. Just right to knock off the early morning chill. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
