Close it’s the insurance companies in conjunction with the CDC that create treatment protocols. Most people don’t realize the CDC is not a government agency like others. They have profit motives attached. They have the ability to patent discoveries and profit from them. That can really slow down science at times.

Rash appears in approximately 46% of cases.

Well just judging by your exploits during the dead of summer I’d guess your as healthy as an Ox. I have no doubt a person in good health can kill off Lyme and associated diseases by themselves. I myself have been pulling them off since I was a little kid.
I’ve read the adult immune system takes a noticeable dive at the age of fifty. No idea where you are on that scale LOL
It was at 50 when I was fairly sure I had Lyme. Hunted down my first doctor as an adult and asked for a Lyme test. She tested for just about everything under the sun. Wasnt until four years later when the wheels came off my bus that I found out she never ran the one test I specifically requested. Too late by then. I just assumed because she never mentioned it it was negative.

I can’t speak for all climates but in NJ and Ct. No they don’t disappear in winter. They’ll borrow down in the leaf clutter and drop their metabolism. Disturb those leaves enough or on a nice midwinter day they can re-emerge. I’ve seen them walking on snow.

I personally had the bullseye. When I discovered it, called my local VA and they had me come in right away. Put me on antibiotics right away. Local news would give reports of status of it.

I just flat out hate those SOB's.............Always pulling them off me, I've had a few dug in I had to pull, but luckily I never got sick or had any symptoms of anything. Same with the kids, we pull them off often, only my son had one dug in years ago dug in his head.

I try and spread bug granular in the areas kids mostly play in along with removing their habitat. I also always try to spray prometheum on my pants if I know I am going to be out in the woods doing work, that stuff seems to do a nice job. Just sometimes I forget and get knee deep into something and before I know it one is walking on me. I consciously now will take a shower immediately after working and will check myself. South Jersey is brutal with ticks!

Deer tick here is the one that most commonly carries Lyme. All ticks are nasty though.
