Do you like Oregon chain... I know a lot of guys love it, I haven't used any in years!!!!

Since my saw addiction has grown I always seem to get more chain than I need, and luckily it's always Stihl(sometimes safety chain, I grind jumps down myself).....

I haven't tried the stuff I got from left coast yet....

I like it. Some say it's softer than stihl and doesn't hold an edge as well. Sadly I can say I'm not a big enough chain connesouir to tell much difference. I do run a lot of it cause I get it off my loggers who jack it all up and just hand file. I get them and grind them back true.

If you end up with more than you can use, I'm sure we can help you give those chains a second chance. Save a chain, give it a second chance at life. LOL.

Ya some of the chain you get on saws that you rebuild/fix is amazing.... hell I put a grind on a ms290 20" chain before I sold it last night and the cutters were damm near flat, no real radius..... it looked as if someone held the file/grinding wheel way to high LOL!!!

By the way do you grind the Oregon chisel with the "10" degree tilt.....have you ever ground it with "0" tilt....

Like I said I have some loops of the full chisel(I believe it's Lpx????)..... I am wondering if a person could even tell a difference in the cut grinding at "0" degrees or "10" tilt...

I use to grind without tilt. Now I grind with 10°, maybe it's just me convincing myself of it but seems to get a better hook and cut better with the tilt, than without
