One of my neighbors paid 3.88 a gallon today. Needless to say he was not happy with a bill for 776.00 for 200 gallons

AC. The tank swap people are notorious for not filling the tank to its capacity of 20 lbs. Just google propane tank swap scam and you'll see that they only fill them to 15 lbs, put it in some fine print and most people don't recognize the difference until they have to go back to swap again sooner than thought. You pay for the convenience but the business practice is not exactly above board..

Applebees were delivering propane today when I went thru Ovid. They should be able to fill your small tanks I would think.

Most of the swap out places will swap them out if they have the new style valves rust or no rust. Good way to get some nice tanks!

The kids came and got some firewood to burn in their open fireplace. I hate to see all that nice wood heat going up the chimney but if it helps them at all, no problem here. I told them they may defeat the purpose as it may take the other heat out of the room up the chimney too.

Guess who is going to help his neighbor install a chimney this weekend.

He is not sure what stove he is going to get but he sure did seem to like my Fire view. So I gave him their number. Once he figures out what stove I will probably be helping him build a hearth as well.

Was that because of propane cost?

Pete, I've never had a problem exchanging any tanks with blue rhino. Home depot has an automated tank exchange, nobody there to tell you your task is too rusty. After you put your tank in a carousel turns and gives you new.

Thanks pyro I just called them it has to be a non re painted tank so I can exchange one of them anyway. One is very obviously painted black and they will charge me for the tank if I take that one. I guess the machine takes your address and card number when you exchange that sound right to you?

Sounds reasonable, I've never actually used it. One it's better than none for sure. I've even returned a few old valve tanks at random gas stations. Usually the cashiers don't even look or care. Paint it back to white maybe.

He has been talking about it for a little while now. I think the higher cost of propane has given him new motivation to get this project under way.
