its pretty damm hard to stop yourself from taking in more, isnt it? I imposed a no more scrounging restriction on myself too until I finish splitting and stacking everything that is laying around. Its been wet, so I wouldnt be able to get the wood to the processing area anyway, and I already have a load of rounds stacked out front from the first mud season we had back in February. Yet I still keep looking for more on Craigslist every night!
Nice lookin hoard Cole! Them big rounds ought to heat you a few times. Looks like some nice splits to use for them cribs, if you were so inclined...
I collect when I can. I process/CSS when I can. Nice looking pile-o-wood right there. Surrounded by apple orchards - nice!! Is there a scent in the air when they are all in blossom? I know of some orchards around where I am. When I see that there's been some damage to the trees by wind or snow, I stop in and ask if it's ok to take broken branches. I use them in the smoker.
Sweet! You have some good firewood there Cole. Wish I were in better shape as then I could help you split and stack. And I would like to drive over your way to see all the apple blossoms again. When I had a few trucks working out of Fremont, we used to drive through your area a lot and I always looked forward to May when the apples were in blossom as there are lots in your area.
You can smell the scent for sure. I am on a ridge that produces around 10% of the apples in the US. Lots of trees. My brother got some wood as well for his smoker, luckily the guy behind my house has a small operation.really a nice guy.
If your ever over here make sure to let me know. I always welcome the help! It is a nice time of the year when all the trees blossom.
Went out and got a load full. Wrote the rain hit today. Hopefully I can get it unloaded tomorrow if it don't rain to much. Still have a ton to split
Yep. I cut it all to length over Christmas and pulled it out of the woods. Now just getting it home where I can process it.
Those are the most non-pointiest red oak leaves I've ever seen(in the sky lift) ... aka - white oak leaves.... Awesome farwood! Nice work C
