Can anyone humor me and give me the dimension from the back side of the stove pipe to the front stove legs on a rear vent Progress? I'm looking for the smallest dimension possible to see if it would fit on our hearth. We're not ready to take the plunge yet, but it may be something we consider in the future. Thanks!
By "back side of the stove pipe" do you mean rear of the stove flue collar opening? If so, it looks like 23" from the front most point where the front leg contacts the hearth to the rear of the flue collar opening. All the stove angles make it hard to be exact, but that should be within +/- 0.5". You may want to run it by WS to double check, they are great about this and are being very patient with my 1000 questions. Hope this helps. I am going thru the same gyrations trying to determine Keystone clearance dimensions. The spec sheets don't always help.
I was looking for the back side of the pipe if you had a "T" or a 90 attached to the stove. I can always measure my "T" and add it to the dimension you gave me... Thanks! Another question: On my Keystone I have a 7" to 6" reducer, from the stove to the 'T", which takes up about an inch of space. I know I don't need the reducer for the Hybrid, but will I need some kind of adapter collar/pipe to connect the double wall 'T" to the flue collar? I'm not tryiing to split hairs here, just want to mark out the placement of the Hybrid on the hearth as accurately as possible to see how it fits. If you need any measurements on the Keystone, let me know....
My "T" is not mounted directly to the stove (it connects to a short pipe), so it's best for you to measure your "T" and add it to my dimensions. No such thing as "Splitting Hairs". If you are off 1/2" and the inspector catches it, you could be in for massive rework to fix it. I think this is what you are looking for to go double wall to single wall - should work for the Progress. Why do you need double wall? WS told me the top dimension of the Keystone is: The top casting measures 23 5/8" x 17 1/8" while the leg spread is 25 1/8" x 18 7/8". I wish they would update their online manual, it's outdated and does not have all the info I need.
I won't have any problem with floor clearance to combustibles with the Progress as our hearth is 12" high. The current stove pipe will dictate where the stove sits (we don't want any offsets) and we have a couple inches to spare from the back corners of the stove to the walls. My wife likes to sit in front of the Keystone on the hearth, so a minor concern for us was will the Progress eat up too much of that space. I think we would be fine....if she can stand the heat from the Progress, that is... Already have the double wall "T" on the Keystone. That's what Woodstock sent me when I ordered the double wall stove pipe. The dimensions Woodstock gave you for the Keystone are correct. I would add the rear flue collar protrudes another 3.5" from the casting measurement. Thanks for the help, fire_man!
I'm supposed to go up there in another week or so depending on the weather, I need to measure to for similar reasons. I might go Saturday so let me know if you have any questions. It's only about 2 hours from me and I want to see the IS in person but it depends on the weather.
