Awesome! I am just back from a road trip out to Cincinnati to see a couple Sox games, on the way back through PA we stopped on Nazareth and visited the Marting Guitar Factory. I couldn't help think of Woodstock Soapstone as we toured their custom shop watch them building all these gorgeous custom guitars. It will be fun seeing all the cool designs people build into their stoves.

Oslo, congrats on the new IS when it arives!! I've been up to Lebanon a couple times now and can tell you this stove will become the center of attention whever it is installed. The size just dwarfs anything else around it. It's like, you be... "well I had ot put wood in it, 3 times this winter..." LOL! :)

On of my questions when I pick up the IS in a few weeks will be stripping the stove down when I get home. Maybe you can tell me what on the IS can be stripped down to eliminate some weight when I roll it off the truck into the house.
    thx

Honestly, not a whole lot. The top front cover lifts off easily enough as well as the heat deflector underneath and the cat assembly. The side leg covers come off easily. I guess if you wanted to really tear it apart you could disassemble the soapstone liner but that appears to be a lot of work, I'll have to take a closer look. Maybe ask them to not install the soapstone liner at the factory and package it separately, or when you're there ask them the best way to remove it then reinstall it?

This is the one drawback of the whole Internet/mail order stove concept. There are many people for whom the idea of moving in and installing their own stove is just too much of a project to even contemplate, who would rather pay the extra money for a dealer install.

On the Oslo I was able to take all the doors off, the fire brick lifted right out and both ash lips came off, I'd say about 100 lbs give or take. Thats why I asked you about the IS, but it seems it's not quite that easy.
I will ask them when I go up.
Next question; How well did the boys man handle the stove once the rollers were taken off? Or has been placed yet??

It's uncrated but still sitting on the pallet in the living room. We have to rearrange the whole living room before placing the stove and we're debating building a hearth in the corner of the room or just reusing the manufactured hearth pad we've been using. We might do the latter again this year since we are still going to be moving stoves in and out this coming season when the Beta Franklin hybrid gets here this fall.

So, will you setup shop with the IS and then let the WS fellas move that out into storage when the Franklin comes? When do you anticipate the Franklin? (and no more secret squirrel) PM if you have to :)

Actually I'm planning on making the trip up to Woodstock in October the pick up the Beta. I have a close friend near Albany NY who I'll be visiting this fall and Woodstock is only two hours from his home. I left my little utility trailer at his place this spring in anticipation of using it again this fall to bring home the Beta Franklin.

Will you install the IS before the beta comes?

Most likely, yes, just in case the Beta stoves run behind schedule with all the production IS stoves going out this summer and fall.

Woodstock keeps posting pictures on their Facebook page. I usually go there very rarely but find myself looking more often in case they post more pictures!

They put another picture of ours up there. Got an email from Ron. Our stove should be home Tuesday night!

I scored a truck load of already bucked pine today too.

Lorin told me that mine is scheduled to be assembled this week. Look for the log cabin sides, lantern top, and bear andirons. :)
