Interesting. Any thoughts on what's causing the noise?

Sorry Fanatical, late to the game here. My stove is due at the terminal on Tuesday. I cannot wait to get it. I still have to get the gas logs pulled out and the zero clearance insert out but getting ready to start that asap. Stove might have to sit in the living room corner for a few days until I get everything lined up.

Hearing those sounds is normal. Something we learned in school. Heat sometimes expands things and when it is metal, it sometimes likes to sing to you.

Did it sound anything like this?

I got a lot of pings and ticks and tings when the stove was heating up fast.

    Well guys,
I've never seen anything like this. I threw a couple splits in the fire before going to bed last night (50 overnight). It was about half full. 8 hours later she's still chugging away. I opened the primary and got a flame show. :D I need it to burn 10 hours while I'm at work during the winter. I think it will do the trick! That was all soft/ half rotted wood too!

Not if it's anything like the Progress Hybrid. I put only a half load in last night at 10 pm with punky/unidentifiable wood I scrounged earlier this summer from our woods, plus a piece of cherry, and came down at 7:30 to a 250 degree stove top, hot coals and a big chunk of wood still in the firebox. Couldn't believe it! I'm assuming the IS will perform similarly. Guess I'll see soon enough.

I'll see a bit closer to home - like in my kitchen! Cutting it kind of close and wrapping up the hearth tomorrow night, picking up Tuesday. Luckily I'm on vacation this week, so plenty of time to play with. Gonna be great to use that cooktop in the winter.

For sure it sounds like you'll have a busy week coming up. Good luck on the install.

Thanks Dennis. And I'll post plenty of pics, otherwise, of course, it didn't happen. :ithappened:

    Load her up! Just fit.

Jamie helped us out a bunch, as did Lorin and others. Great bunch of folks, and looking forward to the install!

Thanks Brian and Dave! All the credit for the great shots should go to Evelyn, who has the aptitude, interest and ability to take photos, which I sorely lack. Excellent day, and glad to share it with her!

Just wrapping it up tonight - thanks for asking. Second one was much easier than the first, since as with many things, you learn how to save a step or two after you've done something once. She's looking a bit lonely without that stove on her though. ;)
