    The difference is, you either sharpen a chain, or put a new/newly sharpened chain on, there are a lot more options in measuring and marking cuts. A tape measure or my cut off broken yard stick, or even a 16” stick, and a scrench, screwdriver or crayon ️ work well for me, are much cheaper, and not being attached to a saw, are much more versatile

    By all means, if you like laser pointers, Buy/Use them, I mentioned what doesn’t appeal to ME about them, thoughts that may not have occurred to someone else, but I didn’t intend to criticize someone else for using them, yet it seems some have taken it that way

    Do what works for you, I will do what works for me, and if asked, I will explain what I do, and why

    Couldn’t agree more, no criticism taken. I was merely pointing out that if the laser firewood measuring device is someone’s jam, that it takes a few minutes to move from saw to saw so they don’t really need to spend $ on one for each saw.
