I've been hearing conflicting stories of price gouging and rationing of pellets in Connecticut and Massachusetts. One salesman said people can't buy a full ton because the store can't get pellets and another person said stores are setting their prices over double their cost (around $400/ton). Has anyone seen this?
I bought a Ton of Green Supreme Allegheny Hardwood at Home Depot in Wareham, Ma on Sunday Morning 2/13/22. Cost me $239.00 Self Pick up. Think it was the 3 Ton Price But I wasn't complaining. They had 87 Tons in stock (according to website) They didn't limit me to less than a ton. Best part was that by the time I paid at the service desk and drove around side of building...they already had the pallet on the forklift and had to wait for me. Usually I have to wait for the forklift operator and a safety observer to show up. It can take as long as 1/2 hour. I was loaded, strapped down and out of there in <10 minutes. So no Gouging There. ---Nailer---
Do you have any locations that you are concerned about? Narrowing down the search criteria could help with people who are willing to put boots on the ground.
