What really stinks is I have zero room to put any pellets. I have 31 bags in my living room right now......I really want to grab some of these PTL's.

I don't have room either, I'm loaded up but I'm going to make it happen if these things burn good. I'm going to try and jam some more in my shed somehow......oink!

They sure do smell good! They remind me of the Platinum Pellets, although the platinum pellets smell even better! And you know what else, they also remind me of a pellet I used to get at Robbins back in 2009 / 1010 - they were called Eagle Valley - man I loved those things, in fact those were the pellets that convinced me softwoods were fantastic in a pellet stove! Anyway, then they stopped carrying them, reportedly due to transportation costs - I think those actually shipped form a location not too far from where these Presto Log softies came from!

If I am able to get my hands on some more (will check after work on Monday) - I will grab a few extra bags and I can pass them off to you whenever you have room for them. Honestly I don't have anymore room either, but I'll figure something out. I need to build a pellet shed!

So if the softies made it east of me? It's possible they may be here?

I have seen 2 other HD's with PTL's, and never gave them a 2nd look. Maybe they were the Conifer pellets?

    Road trip!!

Thanks for the offer! But it is not necessary for you to go out of your way. Eventually I will have the room for more test pellets and I can try to hunt some down. And if not, I have your review for future reference. :dex:

I didn't burn any Blazers yet, they are still outside under wraps. I am recording the results of each kind as I burn them, but waiting to post until I have more burn time in colder weather. It's still early and I do expect to see different results as it gets colder and the stove needs to crank. They are definitely my favorite softie so far this year though :)

First bag of AWF Hardwood just went in tonight :fire:

Still need to test these too: Inferno Gold, Greene Teams, Stove Chow, Blazers

How'd you like the AWF? I've burned a few bags of those so far this year and actually had to turn down the feed rate. The pellets were much shorter than I remembered and the burn was waaaay too rich.

So far, the ash volume is less than other pellets I burn....stove glass stays amazingly clean....thought it's hard to tell with it not being super cold out, on my lowest setting these pellets are cooking us pretty good....oh and did I mention they smell GREAT!!! lol I'll post a rough ash percentage when I'm done with the bag....

First bag, I really liked. The pellets are very dry and mostly the same length. I was very pleased with ash output, I would put it right on par with Hardwood Lignetics (which I really like a lot). Can't get a good read on heat output capability yet because the stove is / was already at steady state when I put them in. If I had one negative about them, it seemed like they burned too fast. I just put them in last night and already the hopper was empty around 9:00 this morning, so they only lasted about 12 hours, and that's a bit odd considering it's not that cold out yet. It was low 40s - high 30s here last night, 38 right now.

Oh yeah...one thing I forgot is there is almost zero fines in the bag.....almost hard to believe considering how far they traveled.....unless they were bulk bagged closer to here.

Same experience here. When dumping them in the hopper, they are some of the cleanest pellets I have seen. No cloud of dust and practically no fines. Dex, you need to make that road trip to see if you can find a batch of these. Well worth it!

ok...here's a half azz'd review....assuming the bag weighed 40lbs.......I had 1.39lbs leftover in the hopper.....ash weight was .95 ounces and volume came in at the 8 ounce line (smidge below actually)......the ash percentage came in at .15% (excellent) My real review will come when it gets colder BUT I'm glad I bought a ton of these!!!!
