I have not made a decision yet, That trunk would work fine though and supposedly made in usa. nice plus.
Still been leaning on getting the bauer modular box ( have a gift card so its basically free) But I haven't stopped looking.
one of those black and yellow 27 gallon totes would probably be good enough as well. They stay pretty watertight.
Was just on mypatriots site last night looking at their coffee, I think I"m going to stick to ordering the glass jars of instant, seems more economical.

What kind of fuel consumption do you notice? Curious what the conversion rate is for how long 1 gallon of gasoline runs how much propane would be needed to equal it.

I did the same math and it was cheaper to burn propane. Lots of good reasons to prefer propane all the time but dual fuel is smart.

Its a tiny engine. The packaging and the champion website give the hours per tank for gasoline and a full 20# bbq lpg tank at a particular load. I think it’s 25%.

It was more than 12 hours per gallon of gas and 30 hours per propane tank. I forget. The champion site has it.

Little buggers are quiet as a mouse at low loads and just like a Honda 2000 when loaded down. I prefer propane for test runs just because it’s cheap and supposed to burn so clean that the oil stays cleaner longer.

With gasoline it idles a tad lower so is extra quiet. More peak power too on gasoline.

    From the champion website:

"Operate your Dual-Fuel generator right out of the box on gasoline or propane, and easily switch fuels with the fuel selector dial. When the 1.05-gallon tank of gasoline is full, the 79cc Champion engine produces 2500 starting watts and 1850 running watts and will run for up to 11.5 hours at 25% load. When using a 20-pound propane tank, it produces 2500 starting watts and 1665 running watts and will run for up to 34 hours at 25% load."

So my propane is 2.39 per gallon and a BBQ tank holds 4 gallons so 28 cents per hour.

On gasoline at 4$ per gallon it's 37 cents per hour.

I've had a champion gas generator for years and never had a bit of trouble. I'm also very impressed with how quiet it runs even at full load.

Work said I could get a xmas gift so I decided to get the bauer tool box for the 1st aid supplies.
Not as spacey as I thought it would be or maybe I should say it filled up fast with bulk stuff.
I still have space left, and I do need to pack it better, Just tossed in the things that were in need of a home. Biggest thing was I wanted a safe home for liquids.

Had a weird experience today shopping. I arrived to find the place eerily quiet. Things seemed normal initially, registers going, people moving. The egg cooler was dark (odd). As I perused and put a hustle on my movements, the staff was putting caution tape through the cooler door handles, making stuff inaccessible. I worked my hands around the curtain on the open coolers and grabbed the cheese I could see. I grabbed a few doubles of a few things, and headed for the front.
They were still ringing out, I wondered if they were still taking plastic.
    (they were)
They were running on limited standby power, with a closing imminent and freezer trucks about to be called. My phone wouldn't work, no calls or texts. Towers must have been out too.

A part of me thought 'so this is how it starts' . . .

We've been a little lax recently. A little low on money, a bit less focused on what lies ahead, and using up critical mass, rather than replenishing.

If one thing more went wrong, if I was just a few minutes later, if cards had been out of service, I'd have been in a different spot today.
I'm taking it as a shot across the bows.

Bar oil @ TSC was still $14.99/G. the winter weight stuff was $19.99/G.

Or their coolers could have just failed mechanically.

We, collectively, need to be cautious. If everyone simultaneously decided not to trust the banks anymore and tried to withdraw all their cash, it will create instant pandemonium, the likes of which hasn’t been seen in our lifetime. In essence it will become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Of course speaking for myself anyway, my natural state is to look upon the entire financial superstructure with cynical skepticism. The FDIC safety net is only good for as long as the house of cards is standing.

everything cold stored was closed off, overheard cashier talking about power being down, running on standby, and credit cards not working for a short time earlier. At the next store, they heard a loud boom, and power glitched, comms went down briefly. No issues whilst I was there though.

With cell coms off, I began to wonder.

It was just a sneeze from being interesting.

from what I’ve seen and read of it today before it made me nauseous, it’s pretty much useless since they are tossing the rules away as it fits them.

One thing’s for sure: the people running these banking institutions aren’t losing sleep over any of it. They know their cronies in high places have their backs, as they did in 2008. If anything they’ll become exponentially richer on the other side of this.

There are numerous signs telling us to "keep your ear to the ground" and start paying a little more attention to what we are SEEING around us. Things are starting to actually happen that gives one a very uneasy feeling.
