Yes I did. The last 10 days have been the best of whole season, but still icy and thin. A lot of accidents due to conditions and crowds on less prime trails. And now today its sunny and 50 across most of Vermont and new Hampshire. Not sure how the mix or rain will effect the trails next 2 days.
Based on what NWS said, Southern Greens could get 7" or more of snow. That would help! Hopefully, it's not rain in our part of VT. I know we lost a lot with the temps the last few days.
WoW, look at the oil markets. Saudi Arabia has declared a oil war. Prices plunging. Read a statement saying prices could drop to upper 20's or low 30's very quickly. Was 60+ in January, hit 45 Friday, and futures at 41 now.
Gonna be a heatwave today. Gotta check the pellet count in the garage. I should have enough to get through the cooler evenings this month.
Is t my pessimistic Yankee self, but does anyone else feel that Old Man Winter is going to blast us before Spring?
"they'' are probably just testing the water, getting a feel for raising prices on pellets for the coming winter.
I believe it's entirely possible. But my snow loving self will be disappointed because it will melt quickly and not be properly enjoyed.
Which could make for a very interesting season this year, with the low oil prices and the dreaded coronavirus, it should be pretty interesting to see which retailers "stock up" heavily for the season given the uncertainty. Usually, about this time of year, we start getting pricing from the mills....so far, two prices. One outfit, who shall be nameless, has come out with NO decreases of Spring, and NO Spring special. Guess who we aren't restocking this year?
Going to be a good time to pre pay for oil, with rock bottom prices now. Looking at 3rd straight month of crazy above normall temps in the Northeast. Dont see anybody burning anything.
yup, except most fuel oil retailers would be CRAZY to commit to a futures' program in a falling market such as this, especially given the bloodbath they are taking right now with this winters' futures programs (we sell oil too)
I feel many people like myself will depend less on there pellet stove and alternate between heating options due to the rising cost . I love my pellet stove but can get way more bang for the buck with the mini split.
My stoves' appetites have lessened with the warming ground and warmer weather. If we would get more than 1 sunny day a week, that would help too.
See has been a decent dropoff in prices from some dealers. One dealer reporting they cant get a brand due to shutdown. The pellet mill is exempt, but the flooring manufacture wasn't, so they lost their sawdust supply
