I'm 66. I've experienced several "once in a lifetime" storms.

We're good here. 54⁰ out and 73⁰ inside. I'm letting the stove go out. There's a section of door gasket needing attention.

I have some BL splits ready for tonight. I'll miss in some ash with them.

Wow, when I got up from my recliner nap to go to bed at 1 it was still 40 and raining...is zero and white out now... can't tell if it's still snowing or not, everything is blowing sideways.
Looked at the weather app at 1, it showed on the minute by minute forecast temp dropping 18 degrees in 1 minute at about 2:03... I was thinking about staying up to see/feel that...sleep won out.

31 right now and pouring. Luckily the wind hasn't been too bad (yet) although they've had gusts up to 150 already on top of the rock pile. I fully expect to lose power at some point so the wood stove will be going all day (typical anyway for this time of year). Going to do a few more prep things such as filling a few more containers with water and getting a Coleman lantern ready. Otherwise, it's wait and watch. Supposedly, the rain is going to be over by early evening, so it'll be interesting to see how much snow from last night is left. With the deep freeze coming right after the rain ends, I'll probably try to get some of what's left cleaned up, otherwise it's not going anywhere until the next warm up.

57 here, no snow, lotsa rain. Lotsa wind. No snow.
went out and dressed up the top covers on stax. Logs blew off! now there are more logs . . .
The house is still cool, so have a fire going. I'm ok to warm things up, we'll loose 30 degrees by 19:00.
No calls for downed trees yet, but hoping.

    Be safe all.

Below is power outage data as of 07:00 this morning.

Georgia has taken the worst of it so far, according to outage tracker PowerOutage.US, with nearly 110,000 without power as of 7 a.m. EST. Texas and Connecticut had over 70,000 without power while South Carolina was over 50,000 outages.

With the Eastern storm, winds are forecast to howl at nearly 50 mph as the storm system bombs out while moving toward the Northeast. Gusts as high as 70 mph are not out of the question. All of this happens as temperatures plummet.

At that speed, winds will most likely take down some trees and power lines and create power outages from the Great Lakes into the Northeast. Widespread power outages are possible in western New York and a large swath of interior New England. The coasts of Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut also face the threat of widespread power outages.

You can tell this isn't much of a storm, generally speaking.

Weather channel's, Jim Cantore, has been doing reports, in-studio.

We're already up to around 81,000 power outages in the state. Definitely feel sorry for the line crews today.

That Halloween blow sucked big time! Nobody ever thought that was going to happen. Still doesn’t compare with the 98 ice storm. They had power restored to everyone within a couple weeks in 17.

Wires down. Not affecting us. Across the state highway and down a side street.

I believe it to be a rotted ash. It's pointing at our property. I'm not going near it. I'll check it out in the morning, unless it's taken away.

This reminded me of seeing The Towering Inferno, coming out of the theater and seeing the ground wet (summer time and a short shower came thru during the movie). Weird feeling...
