Incredible update!! She has now made it home tonight to her family. And she is off oxygen for the first time in years. GOD BLESS this woman.

She has spent months away from her husband, children, and all the foster children they raised, I cannot imagine how it feels for her to have a second lease on a well lived life (and clean lifestyle) and return to it after being on deaths doorstep, not to mention the hurdles she cleared to get listed on the transplant list. CONGRATULATIONS dear V.

I'm glad things went well, my father had a single lung transplant. If there is any sign of fluid build up in the lungs, don't wait to get to the hospital, make sure they have something like this so you can check hourly or daily.

What we learned through the years after my fathers single lung transplant is it will be a roller coaster ride the rest of the way.

Thanks! Also, someone here (think it was you) suggested a great pill box with a timer that bought as well.

I will let her know on the pulse ox finger tool:)

I remember your words friend, and your experience with complications when they happened with her too. I appreciate the insight so I am not blindsided if and when.... One more reason I am so grateful she is home this Christmas with her family.

My father checks his a lot during the day, if it starts dropping from the norm he's off to the hospital.

Also have the person who received the transplant to check their weight, a few times my father started to gain weight it turned out to be fluid buildup.

Our father has had an extra 9 years, he looks forward to the next day, nothing longer.

I lost track of this wildwest , but I'm glad to hear she's doing well and is back home for Christmas.
More thoughts and prayers coming her/your way.
