Yea tree trimming works great but a lot of people in our service territory don't want it done. Its funny when people say stuff like "those are my trees and they won't affect my power if they break." Never mind the hundred other people plus there's cause they don't get how it works. Oh well people are people. Glad you got yours taken care of.
Today is my off day so no I'm not wasting company time. I am waiting to go to my oldest sons preschool picnic.
jet, that pic is out my front window. Pretty sure every house on this road has a transformer. The line comes down the road that intersects ours. The transformer that keeps popping (I literally heard it pop back on the 9th which caused our last outage) is right at the intersection and crosses that road to ours. Runs down our road. That's what it looks like, anyway. How was the picanic? (Yogi the Bear reference)
If you each have a pot and the neighbors were out than the tap fuse blew. They may have the fuse on the same pole as a pot. Might have to reset the csp transformer as well. The picnic was fun and the boys enjoyed themselves.
People here also complain about the power companies contractors going hard on their trees. Then they complain about losing power in a storm. Fortunately they went at the trees pretty hard after Irene and the October snowstorm because we didn't lose power during Sandy.
Had one of those blue sky outages yesterday. No pics but a tree just got tired and laid down. Ripped 10 sections of wire off the glass broke 3 or 4 crossarms and associated material. Half of it was lot line luckily we had a ton of help for once. Still was probably a 4-6 hour outage from the time it got called in.
