An F1 tornado hit a heavy populated area on Cape Cody Tuesday. Remarkably, no reports of any serious injury. Lots of oak and black locust blown over in one piece, or snapped off 20' in the air. Photos: Photo Gallery: Second Day of Tornado Warnings on Cape Cod
Have there been injuries? I was in a car just pulling into the ferry line on Martha’s Vineyard when all the cell phones in the car began squawking. That particular storm was just going over with imminent tornado warnings. A little scary. Watch for the results, if any, on that hotel roof. Doesn’t look like the overhang of the roof was attached in any meaningful manner. May never hear of it again as I don’t think anyone was injured.
Not worth it for me. 3hr, round trip, for heavy wood. It would kill my minivan, to make it worthwhile.
* Long time, older hotel/motel. No construction codes at the time, to have stronger connections, to survive high winds.
We got extreme thunderstorm rain/wind/flooding alert on the phones here. About an inch of rain in 15 minutes. Short blasts of wind luckily. I watched the thunderstorm cell pass by just south of us on Real Time Lightning Map
Thanks for posting that site billb3 , I bookmarked it. Cape Cod Tornado's Huh?! Who would've thunk? Toto we're not in Kansas anymore..
