Finally got out and loaded the trucks... Power company came in to clear the lines, left lots of God wood for us. Few miles away at our uncles place, Wrenchguy11 and filled both our beds. I was starting to show a little... I can positively ID some mulberry, walnut, and locust, maybe some maple??
Saw the title of this thread and was sure you had picked up some extra electricity (electrons) in a bag or something. That is a nice looking load of wood though. Brian

With the title I was waiting to see a pile of chips and sparking wires as you cut down some really straight trees with no branches. Wood smells funny but burns hot, hey why don't we have lights.
Sadly, yes, not much snow at all, Ice in store today, then maybe a coating of snow tonight. I personally wish we could get 20+" ...
Nice score - and I wonder if the guys that took it down cut it into even length rounds or if you did. Around here, the power co. tree guys slice it up into impossible lengths and never even close to 90 degree crosscuts. Not complaining ya know, but the cut angles won't stand up for hand splitting. Got yourself a neat pile of warm winter days...
Believe it or not we had an abandoned pole line that some people did that. Not for firewood but to steal the wire.
It was in odd lengths, but most were longer, pretty quick to buck it, harder to get it on the trucks. The one mulberry we chained up and pulled it to the road for easy processing and loading.
Yeah, the largest tree they left was mulberry. Not sure about the lighter wood w/ center dark spot. Does Ash get like that?
