Late July or early August would be the best for me.

I agree. Maybe someone in eastern / central PA could fit the bill for that region.

How late? After the 15th of July?

July 18th could work, but August 2nd would be much better for us. We are going to Wisconsin over the 4th of July weekend and will be pretty road weary.

Farther north/east. Maybe the central/upstate NY area. I'd like it to be in range for the guys in ME, VT, NH, MA and Upstate NY too. ;)

I've been kicking around the idea of having one at a park that my MIL runs but I'm not sure what damaged we could actually get up to there.

I have a good spot I think. Nice sized rural property close to highway and not too far west that we can't pull a lot of people from surrounding states. I like the Iowa location, but the further west we go limits people from out east. We need to try and get some Indiana people that are within 250 miles of there. Pretty much a 4 hour drive isn't too bad. The Canton drive was more like 6 for me which is pushing it a bit.

Yeah, it was 14 hours for me. I just couldn't justify it.

Well ill tell you right now, I'd love to see you guys have a GTG. And if one DOES materialize, I'd do my best to try and be there. And if I'm willing to put in a 12 hour drive, you western guys gotta try to make an effort to come......lol.

In all honesty, I'd do my best to attend. I could meet up with Dex and head out with him from there....

If I can get the big guns out here, I'll definitely make sure it happens. I tried rather unsuccessfully to put together a car pool for Swag's GSG. I waited too long.

Next year, I'll probably book a flight to Akron months in advance and get out there in style. Not sure how to pack a saw in my carry-on though. If I'm driving solo, gas would be about the same as a flight.

I would be into coming out as well. I have a quad cab truck and could take as many as 4-5 people. Could pull my enclosed trailer for tools, saws ect.

I'm going to throw out a couple of dates, and then we can narrow it down as a group. I guess we can try as best to accommodate as many schedules as possible.

Did you guys have camping there? I didn't see any tents. I think this should be a 2 day event starting on a Friday or Saturday like before.

Man, I would drive out to your place again but with a new baby on the ground, I doubt Mama's going to let me go play again so far away.

That's about 4 hours for me. I'd love to commit to a date, but that's pretty hard for me to do with work. I have to travel often...and often on extremely short notice.

    Fabricate a date or two?

I have 5 weeks of vacation. One of which I am on now. The 2nd week I take the 3rd week of July (I go to our Cabin in Pa), and I have 1 week of single days. The other week and a half to 2 weeks is still available.

Ok...still coordinating with my brother and his lady on dates. I would love to do it in 4 or 5 weeks to be honest.

Sounds like these gatherings are about dropping a tree or two and bucking that wood, eating, drinking, campfire time, and chatting with other members. That's easy to prepare for.

My brother built a Schwenker grill, so we have more options for food prep for those not into the pig.

Not his grill but it gives an idea. His is much bigger and it swings over the flame for even cooking without burning.

July August is a busy time for me at work, I would love to come out but not sure if it will work.
