Allan we'd absolutely love to have you two at one of our GTG. Well, who knows? We got leoht to come last year from Australia and if you come you'd be the first from Canada! We'd welcome you with open arms.
Yeah, there's some funny laws regarding what you can and can't bring across the border. This week we'll be crossing over, then back....
Here’s my stacks that I have under cover that I will burn first this year... they get a fair amount of sun and no rain. All kinds of different wood in these stacks. Won’t be long now....
I doubt it. I went through Canada (on way to gtg) last year twice with no problem. I even had a chain saw aboard.
Gosh I didn’t realize to look closely on the last one with top log. So much burl on there. damm shame its gone.
There was a converstion on here about it few months back. I didnt have any way of retrieving it without cutting sections and flopping it off the pile and onto my truck. Looking back i shouldve grabbed it, but knowing my history...i have great ideas for wood/logs and almost never follow through FatBoy85
My neighbor cut down 5 pine trees from his backyard. I asked the tree service to leave a couple cords for me and they did. The alley behind our houses was all down hill, so I rolled the cut logs down to the alley. Rented a splitter last Saturday and had 2 trucks and a bunch of helpers. We basically assembly lined the process of splitting and stacking 2 1/2 cords in 4 1/2 hours. Had a crew focused on loading the splitter, somebody operating the splitter, and somebody chucking the splits into the pickup bed. Then I had another crew up at the top of my yard unloading a pickup and stacking in the woodshed (I was doing all the stacking, because a man should not let another man stack his wood). We had two pickups, so while one was being unloaded at the top, and another was always being loaded at the bottom in the alley. Pretty sweet to get that much wood split and stacked in such a short amount of time, and I didn't even have to drive anywhere to pick it up. All in all, it was a very good day! I have good friends. Food and beer is all they require in payment (after the work of course).
Late to the thread, but I can find a few pictures. My son and I knocking out some big rounds. Trying out my huskihl tricked Ms362 with 28" bar. Working in the cool summer night. logging some big white oak with the 'Bota Team work with my hunny.
