Thanks, The deer hunting here in Illinois has gone from bad to worse in the last 3 years or so. The numbers are way down and all the state wants to do is sell more permits. They couldn't give a rats azz about the herd. We did manage to get a couple decent ones in spite of that this year.

My Dad's buck this year......old buck's still getting it done.

The TRX300 was pretty much bullet-proof, and pretty much defined Honda as a utility ATV manufacturer. I would like to find one of the trx300 4x4's, myself. And to be honest, I could get into collecting ATV's as easy as collecting saws.. but they take up so much room, and more money.

There's still a strong following on the 300's...which has driven the price up quite a bit too. As good as they were there's a lot more fun to be had for a lot less money with other models.

Honda's typically have the best resale in the ATV world. For "mid" size 4x4's, the best value would go the the Yamaha Big Bear/ Yamaha Kodiak, IMO.
I have 2 quads, 2 atc's, and 3 Honda FL350 Odysseys (for sale too btw :) ), and don't have any pictures on my laptop. I do have a couple good ones from the racing days..

Agree. But the 300's are ridiculously priced for a 20+ year old machine, IMO.

I walked into one of the few ATV shops on Long Island, and when I asked where the 4wd units where, he pointed to one, and said that's it. It was a giant thing that looked more like an F-350 super duty, not an atv. Anyway, they have probably 200 atv's I the shop, only one was 4wd. When asked, he said 4wd's where rare in atv's cause they were big and expensive. I assumed that was everywhere.....

This cold weather is affecting my battery. Where's the best place to get a new one? I hate to pay Polaris prices.

Any of the auto parts places usually sell the smaller batteries. I discovered Battery Tender a few years back and now have a few of them for dif gear. Keeps the battery at 100% while not over charging. You hook it up and forget it. I like them a lot. They claim it will help any battery last much longer too.

I got mine at advance auto parts useing a $30 off online code. Order online and pickup in store.

As to the tenders. Harbor freight has them for $5 that work great. But if u park in a shed or somewhere without power but with light get the HF solar charger. It works and is like $15. I have 2 of those as well. I have a really weak old battery on my chevy extra truck every time I went to use it. Maybe every few months it needed to be jumped. But once going was fine for a few days. Put the solar charger on and no problem starting now.

Probably just an area specific thing, around here 4x4 are much more common

Doesn't matter where, but do yourself a favor and get an AGM battery for it. Advanced auto has them.
