The market place 261 is definitely a tree monkey saw. It has Scott’s deflector on it and his old Kunz Woodworking sticker on the top cover.
Looks like a fair price as well. That saw is $600 or more now. Add 400 to that for port work and shipping and you’re at a grand

I would go and look at it and ask if you can take the muffler off and make sure at least that the piston isn’t scored up. If you want, PM me on here when you’re planning to go and we can swap cell #’s and you can text me pics of the exhaust port and piston and I should be able to tell if it’s legit

Well, did you test drive this sucker yet? We need a pic of the look on your face when you get back in the truck, with the saw riding shotgun. :D

Hadnt checked PM from FBM. My last question to him was if he was a tree guy or if it was a firewood saw. Heres what he said

Firewood, couple seasons and then I started working a lot closer to the guy I cut with so I stopped using it and use my other saws. He didn't appreciate the noise level. It kills me that it just sits there now, I use it a few times a year but not much.

    Asking $700, i wanna offer $500

Just my opinion and how I do it is to first ask "what's the best you can do? " gives you a better idea of what's in his head and doesn't pizz him off. If he says $650 and you say I was thinking $500 at least your still on friendly terms.

Yes his port work is acceptable. It made more hp and torque than all the new stock 50cc saws he had on the Dyno a few months back except the 550 xp. Joes build was reasonably mild with no base cut and not a bunch of lower transfer work. Look him up on YouTube. The video is that old. Week or two. Speaking of two......

maybe I have two ms241 saws now....

    I agree. $500 on a TM261 is a bit low. Probably won't get a reply.

I was trying to get you to think I bought the one in the link above but it didn't quite work out. :confused:Would I buy another? If I find a another new one that isn't stupid priced I would. Heck I'll buy a decent used one just to have. The more of them I have leaves less out there for other guys.....

What percentage of saws you port are new when you do it? Is it better to port new or used?
