I bought a ported 254 from Armbru84 with the intention of running a 20" bar. What would be the max bar length for this saw?
I am going to stop by the Husqvarna dealer on the way to mom's tomorrow to get it set up. If I am going to go 20" I might as well go max length.
I also picked up a 20" chain at Well Seasoned 's gtg. It says it is for a 254, but I believe the drive links are wrong. Hopefully the dealer can sort things out for me.

You could probably run 20” pretty good if you stick with .325 pitch chain.

It might pull a bit more than 20"...but probably not real well...

Ended up with a 20" bar. The 20" chain I had fit. Dealer said They didn't make a .325 chain bigger than 20" I would have to change over to a 3/8" set up.
Treated myself to a new toy while I was there. Got a log tong. They sure were proud of them.
