First rule of plumbing or electrical my grandpa taught me was buy 2 or better yet 3 of everything you think you need as well as lots of elbows in every angle, then get the size above and below it just in case. And you can never have to many junction boxes, outlets and pipe couplers on hand.
Nice work Sean! I have a drippy faucet and the toilets run on occasion...if you happen to be in the area! Oh and i have a few cord of rounds and logs to process too. After all, firewood is more fun!
I was in Lowes the other day and these 2 guys were counting out fittings trying to figure exactly what they need. I said excuse me, just buy a bag of each as you will always need one more than you buy.
Good advice. Last time my mother had a leaking sink it took me four trips and three days to fix it In my defense it was a crazy situation where someone had reversed the plumbing fittings from today’s plastic standard. A mix of plastic to steel to cast iron.
Last night my 2yo though her bath toy wanted to go for a swim in the toilet. It’s now jammed in there. I’ll have to take the toilet off and push it out the way it went it as I can’t snag it with the snake... I hate plumbing as well.
Yeah this is true in so many ways. Not to mention that your trips to the hardware store become so often you start thinking “hell I could be an employee here.” People start asking you which aisle for junction boxes and caulking tubes. Since when you do your bathroom all over again, the amount of trips are staggering and often in a day your project is not always knowing the next step if you’re doing it by yourself and as a first project of any kind.
Please explain this to my wife!! you got countless fitting.. those are sweat not compression.. dear think of them as shoes!! why do I have a 1,000 dollar bill from plumbing supply
Congrats!! How exciting! This has always cracked me up. Ready? Set? Go! Luvs NightLock Plus TV Commercial, 'Going to the Park'
Does "redo" mean scrape old out apply new? I scraped and scraped on the old tub here and could not get all the old caulk off. Is there a trick?
