The one I have would definately work on a Colorado chipmunk with the right bait. Are chipmunks out there bigger than rats?

Might end up with one or more of these.
Larry, I've got chipmunks getting in the shed and they're chewing up cardboard boxes and whatever they can find.
Almost got another one today with the new Co2 BB pistol. Tried to get a bead on another, but he kept running, then stopping, running, then stopping.
    Little bastages........
The reviews I read are all over the place on these, but several said they got plenty of chipmunks.

The one we bought required special batteries to work properly. $30 for a 4 pack. Regular batteries will not accomplish the mission and I can't help but wonder if that is good part of the poor reviews. Get the special batteries recommended for sure.

Manual says 4 "D" Alkaline (we used to call 'em Al Kaline) are good for approximately 20 kills.

I've used marshmallows covered in honey, sardines would likely work, just an open can, use a live trap or body trap, live trap-cover with a blanket (an old on to keep the significant other happy) take to the river/pond/lake and submerge, I've yet to try it but have heard it from multiple people that it works to not get sprayed, otherwise I've gotten somewhat lucky enough with a live trap to shoot in the head with the 22 and let it bake in the sun for a cold couple days during the fall/winter

Golden Marlin fly bait mixed with cheap cola and put in a dish. Kills coons, skunks, and possums almost instantly. It actas as a nerve agent and the critters don't make it 2 feet from the dish before diein. Dogs and cats don't seem to like the stuff and will not drink it but best to be safe if you have pets around.

Neighbors went to complain at cop shop and were given live traps. We went scouting and found trails to holes under porch of abandoned house. Have cats and dogs so trying to go non lethal for now.

Does that mean something worked? Remember, when it's dead the muscles are relaxed, be very careful in handling them.

The antique trap worked. Burrying did not kill the smell, it came back a couple weeks later....

And, I am not sure I know the whole story either. I was out of town on business, evidence of a stake out on the deck with him and the dogs...... ( :whistle: )

I hate rats, I agree with using dry dog food. You can wire the bone shaped ones to the trap trigger. If need be a small leg hold trap can be used if you can put it where the dogs can't get it, or a small coniber against the wall will work sometimes.

You need to borrow my Jack Russell Terrier..... He wouldn't sleep until the whole yard was dug up and the rat was DEAD. I came home one day and asked my wife what the pile of dirt in the back yard was and she just laughed as it appears he dug a massive whole probably 3 feet deep until he got to the bottom and killed that chipmunk
I have seen him jump on a rats back about the size of him and tear it to pieces he doesn't like varmints.
