So if a stack falls over i can blame the Earth wobble! Cool. Before i just blamed gravity.Fresh green in front. Sassy and ash were dead so they should be okay come Fall time. Have more dead ash to cut for the back. Locust was kinda just thrown in there. Seemed like a good idea at the time. I tire of reinventing stacking/storage.
Looking good.. when you are ready for a challenge and want to take your stacking skills to the next level, I’ll let you come stack some of my typical elm scores!
Ive seen those trees youve cut and i imagine its not fun to stack. How many nugget/gnarly bins do you have?
Brad, Maybe I missed it amongst your many contribution to this forum, but how do you go about selling all this wood you have amassed?
3 I think, could use a couple more. I often take the really big ugliest ones to work. The stove there is bigger
That's good you have a good customer base built. What is the ratio of pick ups to deliveries? I have friends in Stonington, CT. Is that in your delivery area?
No pick ups, all delivered. Stonington is the very SE corner town in the state. Im in South central CT. Its an hour from me. Believe it or not Ctwoodtick and i went cutting in Stonington last September. He had a score i helped him with.
Stacks of beauty Brad. Your pride shows with every split. I, on the other hand, can only say I have firewood. Great job buddy.
Work rained out today. It later stopped so i hit my friends and SS the load of ash from two weeks ago. Played a little more cribbage too! Got rained on a little and it was humid. Sweat my dupa off! Before pics After
Aesthetic stacks there, consistent splitting and perfectly selected stacking. Almost too nice to ever disturb. I actually had a pile of mine topple over today when I bumped into it with my tailgate. I'm hoping to score some more pallets tonight so I can restack a lot of it into my first Holz Hausen tomorrow.
That $%^&$. I hate when that happens. Never tried a holz hausen before. Did you grab any more route 9 wood or is it all that wood you didnt want...sassafras i believe?
Not too bad. Today went rather quick. I had dropped all the rounds right there. Split most then stacked and finished splitting. I was on a mission to finish. Did not like the humidity, but gotta make room for more.
I went back there last night and got another 8 logs for the cause... it's picked pretty clean of black birch at this point though. Big Sass is still there but I'm not too keen on it. I hit up the northbound offramp too which had a lot more variety of species. As I was checking it this morning though, I noticed a lot had small poison ivy vines. I think it's time for me to move on to new places.
