If you look back at metalcuttrs post "about buzzsaw BRAD" i made reference to wearing a tuxedo for the awards ceremony. I guess you could call it "redneck formal wear"
I did not. I was short of dry wood for shoulder season, jabbed them with the MM and below 10% so i burnt them! NOT!!! Ms. buZZsaw is half Dutch thats why i had grabbed them at the dump. Her late father was a boy in Holland during the Nazi siege. She painted the smaller pair and will be doing the same to the others! She enjoys crafts/painting etc.
Ms. buZZsaw and i have been together for nearly 13 years (both happily divorced) and behave like a cantankerous old married couple. We tease the hell out each other. How long have you two been together?
Very creative! I might try one. I have seen scenes cut into shovel and scoop blades and even cast iron fry pans and griddles, although I don't think I would use my vintage Wagner or Griswold!
Wowee! That's amazing! That's one that would make me consider parting with a few greenbacks if I were to come across it for sale at a price that was reasonable!
Cut a couple of gates today. They live on the water on Puget Sound and wanted (after many trial drawings) otters in kelp with 5 babies and whales with 2 eagles. I guess the eagles are the gal and her husband and like wise, the otters are her and her husband and the baby otters their kids. Drawn to the customer specs. Seems a bit stilted to me but oh well, whatever makes the customer happy! Cut out of 3/16 steel, 40" X 40" for the whales and 60" X 40" for the otters. Gates will be galvanized because of the nearby salt water. Actual fab and install of the gates are by friends of mine who have a small fab shop. Keeps me in walking around money I guess!
You do some beautiful work metalcuttr. I know that firsthand every time i set foot in my workshop and admire the plaque you made for me hanging up!
That is some mighty fine work! I really like the ones with the otters. I think once the gates are up and there is a background, maybe water or greenery, the whale gate's layout will be softened a bit and be quite wonderful to look at
I had made the frame a while back and had screen in it. I found this guy who has some cool tools and some serious skills to make me some panels to fit in it. Some of us may know him...
