Finished this shed last night. Needed a little to top it off, so I trimmed 4 18" long rounds leftover from the 2 other sheds to 16". Makes another 1+ cord from the Plantation job. Now we have to figure on doing a few more totes or starting on a big shed. This one holds 5 cords, I think it was 2020 the last time it was full...
We got started on this shed finally. Got the end wall put up, after we stack a couple full rows, we will take it down, probably get a fan moving air thru the stacks then. Got a nice pile done today.
You do make some nice uniform wood Do you always spend the extra time removing the bark or is it just falling off as you split ? JB
If the bark is tight, we leave it on. This is getting loose and the flathead grubs are under the bark. Trying to get it drying faster.
MMMMMMM Flat head grubs Batter Dipped and Fried???? I do have a customer that splits all his bark edges off he does not like the bark mess in his shed I was just curious if you were selling it as barkless splits JB
Friday morning, it still hadn't started raining, so instead of stacking wood, I decided to buck as many logs from the oldest rack as I could. Had a jrider type morning I wish I had thought to get a before ... This is what's left... Should be able to have a good run on Blue Samson now.
Combine an jrider morning with an afternoon and the damage is even worse! Very rewarding to watch your log pile disappear. That’s why I love firewooding so much….immediate gratification with each step
Yep, I would probably have cut more, but had to get some sleep, been working 7PM-7AM since last Tuesday, getting 3.5-4 hrs sleep a day...
I also forgot, some of the logs still have PO vines on them, don't want anybody to handle or burn that.
Had a good Monday morning. First, we got the pile in the shed stacked... Then, it was time to fire up the conveyor and Blue Samson...the beginning view from the splitter... Worked about 3 hrs...what the pile looks like now... The bark pile is getting big...going to load it on the dump trailer, we have a big wash out on the road the loggers made, fill it in... Another nice pile to stack today...
