Great advice right there. After every score, I use an air compressor to thoroughly blow out dust and chips.
Buy an echo...... Stihl and husky are not enough if any better to justify the cost. I have all three brands, and run them a lot. For what you cut, I'd suggest the echo cs4910.
Partial to the 550 xp. A 16” bar would be killer on one of those. But if you find out like me a longer bar is easier on your back it can go up to 20” When I switched from 14” ms 250 to an 18” 550 it was light and day difference. My back wasn’t sore all day bending over. And the power difference was nice too. To each their own but I’ll never run anything but a pro saw. The weight and power difference is what makes it for me. Have a 510 Dolmar homeowners saw and that’s a joke
Find a good used stihl 460. I bought mine from a logger years ago....she has been used hard and cut unknown amouts of wood... I've had to do very little to the saw in the grand scheme..... I recently bout a battery Echo dcs 5000. I'm very impressed. Enough that I would look at the echo gas saws if I needed one anytime soon....
Doorstops/paperweights are all the same to me. I’m not that pretentious to distinguish a difference While the 250 has a jaded past and mostly my fault it isn’t in running condition it’s still a saw of repute. The Dolmar on the other hand is receiving it’s just rewards as an all weather saw. Which is just a nice way of saying it’s staying outside until it disappears
Congrats on the new saw! The guy I used to work with that got me into wood burning swore by his Echos and they are highly regarded here. I'm betting it will serve you well for many years to come. And we need pics..
Not an action pic, but a pic nonetheless. Im going to read the manual and bit and mess around with it in the warm house and then give it a whirl.
lol, gets rid of that hideous banister he's hated for years . . . . time for the Christmas tree to come down hon . . . . .that doorway to the rec room you wanted honey, I got this.
