    Like others have mentioned, towing and hauling those kinds of weights is doable and not an issue for new trucks/motor/tranny combinations. What worries me is trying to stop those kinds of weights and loads o_O

    We're far better off now than even a few years ago. Diesel pickups are now coming with exhaust brakes and all pickups are pretty much coming with trailer brake controllers built into the truck that aftermarket controllers just do not match for performance.

    I have a top of the line aftermarket controller in my old C3500 and while it works well and I like it a lot, the integrated unit in my '13 1/2 ton blows it away. No fiddling or constant adjustment, it just works and with good brakes on the trailer, the whole vehicle stops like it's one unit regardless of if I'm in traffic or running open highway.
