In all honesty I don't know why I never picked one up. Am a big DIYer, like I said am probably 10+ years late on doing this. Endless trips to the box stores because it all won't fit, strapping plywood to the dam roof, borrowing people's trucks, taking all the kids car seats out and folding down back seats for more storage room, wood hanging out the front window, hatch won't shut, having to tie it down, on and on and on....am sick of it LOL!!! Thanks!

I drive a full size truck but if I was honest with myself I would be better off with a Xterra or 4Runner with a 6x10 trailer. I am not honest with myself. See lukem's post for clarification.

ReelFaster I personally use a trailer but that is probably because i am cheap.. up here decent used cars are available for a couple grand that get 30 MPG+. Even new trucks struggle to get 20. Putting a trailer hitch on a car is $300 and i run my cars til they die. (like i said cheap... i mean frugal:whistle:) would a truck be nice YES.. but up here a 10 year old truck with 100k miles start at 10 grand.. Even when i get a truck i will keep trailers. Because i am getting older (isnt everyone) and bottom line>>> my buddy's with trucks come here to borrow trailers to move stuff! do you want to lift a riding mover, snow blower or atv into truck.. I DONT! Also most of them do not have a good 8 to 10 foot bed. They are all buying double cabs and that puts bed space around 6 feet. In fact i got 3 trailers a 4 by 8 dump with sides.. that great for brush and ply wood nice and high and a portable workbench. a 5 by 10 (great size by the way as so many things plumbing pipes come in 10 foot sections) and snowmobiles do not fit on 8 footers and a 6.5 by 14 that i keep at a buddy house cause my car wont tow it..
The 4 by 8 trailer has to be over 40 years old aluminum frame boat trailer was my grandfathers has a PT deck and sides rebuilt it 6 years ago and trailer is still good. The metal ones rust here real fast.
So as my 15 year old 5 by 10 is rusting maybe you should start a thread of which trailers to buy and pick the knowledge of this group. my 5 by 10 came from BBS used for $350 will not last 15 years.. I need to replace her so I know TSC carries a 5 by 10 rated for 2000 lbs up here for about a grand on sale

    Good luck
