1975 VW Scirocco, projects are piling up, I need more shop space. I didn't plan on woking 65 hours a week after retiring.
Ahha...My next guess was gonna be VW Gti, but I knew that wasn't correct either!! Forgot about the Scirocco!!
What hdtoolmkr765 said and check the fittings, o-rings, copper crush seals all the simple stuff. Not to mention I know some of the injector pumps will have seals go bad near the timing gears which in turn will pump fuel directly into the crankcase.
Cool tractor. I when I get more time and a bit more money want to pic up a few old tractors. Love to get a for 2000 or 3000 diesel and get a IH Cub
I went to the local single person ran vintage tractor repair place today, spent a good hour there. Very knowledgeable guy but his ranting about how the city is governed wore me out. He said have the injector pump rebuilt, fix the return line, remove the oil pan to look for debris, add new oil, start and listen for knocks.
I have been known to rant about the city too. Especially those HOA s and people that pay for the privilege to live in their neighborhood
Sounds about right as far as the tractor goes and I'm with you on the government talk thing. We all know there's goods and bads to it but when you are trying to talk tractors and you get hours of pointless ranting instead
