Most scoff at pine around here - I say bring it on wouldn't drive far for it, especially with the stuff on my property There's always plenty of beetle kill SYP and the occasional longleaf - witch burns near about like maple for those up north, I keep that to myself when I find a dead stander
Nothing wrong with pine. It's the easiest wood to scrounge around my area since nobody wants to burn it except for the OWB people. Nice find Pete.
Pine is fine.Not much around here except for the occasional old yard tree in urban/rural areas or a few veteran windbreak specimens on rural farmland.But I grab some when I get the opportunity.Natural range is NE of me close to 200 miles,still a bunch of growth ones in several parks & nature preserves in that area.
