Well, I couldn't catch the p.o. on Friday, but I did today. I spent the better part of an hour mounting it on the flag pole. It sits at about 20' high and should get good accurate readings there. I gotta admit, the thing looks pretty cool up there. I still need to set it up for live updates online, which I plan on doing soon. Standby.....
"If" I did everything right, I should go live within 24 hours. I will post my weatherstation ID then. raybonz, are you live?
Thanks....... I'm still working out possible kinks, won't know until tomorrow??? The acurite app is working, but accurite having trouble linking to the hub to go live. Weather underground says within 24 hrs......
raybonz, does the display unit need to be attached with the usb wire to go live? The hub they sent with this should do it on its own I think........like bluetooth kinda
No USB on my setup.. Everything is wireless except for the acu-link which is ethernet connected to the router.. You must be setup correctly if you can see your weather online with PC and\or cellphone app..
So far I love it! Like the reviews explain, the weather ticker is great, but in order to read everything (Peak winds, outlook, etc) one needs to be standing just right. The wind has been correct as well as a much more accurate temp compared to the weather station miles down the road at a airport. The only other station in the vicinity is on Dalton Mtn. The locals may look to my station for their weather! I used lithium batteries on the 5 in 1 sensor outside for when we're in the negative 30's.
I hope I'm up live tomorrow sometime. Weather underground has a quality dept which look for discrepancies with personal weather stations and pull any that are off by just a little. This keeps their forecasting superior to others.
