    Yes that's certainly Douglas Fir! Does that grow naturally anywhere in NY? Or was it planted as a yard tree?

    Yeah man I love the smell of doug fir! Too bad there was only about 6' of it. I'm telling you I was salivating profusely every time I drove by the school literally right around the block and I finally had to stop and ask what the deal was. Hahahaha.

    Douglass Fir is my primary firewood here. Burns hot, clean and actually coals up pretty nicely. Plus it smells great freshly split and while burning.
