DexterDay here are my findings on stat mod. We have been running at the same setting from yesterday all the way to this morning. The stove has performed beyond anything I could have wished for.............. It's 68f inside the house right now and outside is 21f according to my weather station by the couch. The stove is still on medium low setting and has used around 35 to 40 lbs of pellets from 6:30 am yesterday till now at 6:10 am. I'm impressed! It's a 60lb hopper and is rated for 40 hrs on low. I don't think we will really ever get to the 40hr burns but you never know it could happen lol.. The stove isn't even struggling with keeping up so far the low 20's usually mean a good load in the wood stove overnight....

Today I'm trying the low constant setting to see how that does and defiantly not the high constant setting as we really would cook out of the house with that setting. I'll report back after that run.

Are you running the wood stove in tandem? Or just the pellet stove?

Sounds like its working great for you Pete! Pellets make life easier! LOL.. :)
Pallet Petes Pellet Stove is performing at its peak power!! : thumbs: (not really peak power, but you get the idea ;))

I fired the wood stove for the first time last and will be firing the Pellet furnace here shortly to make sure it's in working order. :D

I thought that your house would have been warmer if both were going.

That stove may make your life a little easier. :D If you're going to be home late? Call the wife and have her dump a bag in. Easy Peasy.

Before you know it, she will be trained and checking the hopper when walking by. Once she knows that the house gets cold if you don't feed the beast? She will be checking as often as you do.

My wife hates being cold. :) She checks ours often.

My wife has thyroid issues so she is always cold. In fact I wouldn't have bothered with another stove aside from that as I can deal with a chilly house when we get home. One fantastic thing about our Jotul is it's defiantly got the heat up power. I either need the pellet or the wood right now it's going to be a month yet before I'll run both. The plan is to run the pellet when gone and fire the stove when home. I still like wood better it defiantly is warmer... That said she likes the pellet because she can set it and forget it lol. I'm probably gonna loose!

I have noticed over the last few days the ash is not bad at all. An entire bag of ProPellets left almost nothing behind and man do they throw heat. Kirtlands dare I say it are about 1/2 the ash as ProPellets. Those are some top notch pellets! The stove eats them up in style and they throw an insane amount of heat. I think for next year I'll probably buy Kirtland pellets if I can find them near by. I'm very happy with the bulk order of pro pellets however! I am not seeing any of the issues beginners see like clinkers, huge as amounts or dirty glass. I also used some Main MWP pellets and ended up having to open the auger up and unjam it three times. I didn't even finish the bag I pulled them all back out and set them by the wood stove to use as fire starter lol. Those turned the glass black instantly and the 20 lbs I did use created about twice the ash as 40lbs of ProPellets.

This all makes me feel like a mad scientist lol.....

The result of cleaning all the hidden ash out of that puppy completely before installation, and plenty of burn air. Keep her clean and she'll keep you warm.

:startled: What? You are trying to confuse me :BrianK:. Anyway, glad you are pleased with it. You learned to clean it before you learned how to use it. When it starts to slow down, you will know right where to go to get it clean again.
